About me......


I'm a 911 Police Dispatcher, Mom and Wife, though the importance doesn't rank in that order.

I've 'struggled' with weight all my life and like most, have tried nearly every dietary option available to get healthy; low carbohydrate, low calorie, extreme low calorie and massive amounts of exercise.  At one point I was down 76 pounds in 6 months, only to gain it back and add an additional eight pounds beyond my highest.

With much encouragement and no pressure from my husband, I followed his lead in adopting a variation of the 80/10/10 lifestyle.  

My daily food mainly consists of low fat staples including fruit, potatoes, rice and vegetables.  While I could be considered mostly vegetarian, that wasn't my primary motivation.   One or two times per week I will incorporate a small amount of chicken or turkey into my meals.  I do allow some low fat sweet treats on occasion.  

Here's hoping this works as well as I've been feeling:  more energetic and already losing weight.
